                | | "My life, as it is, means nothing. That isn't sad or tragic,
it just is." Collage has just begun for Novella, well for Nov (male) and
Ella (female), due to a registration slipup. Novella prefers
to see him/herself as without gender, but a series of events
force him/her to confront this issue. Somehow this relates to
a time in the past referred to only as "Before". Who
is this person who knows Novella's secret? What
                  happened?  |

                | | "People often ask why I wear a bow when I'm such a dismal
person; I like the contrast." Akisa is my personal favorite character. Dark, silent, and
for all intents and purposes, emotionally non-existent.
Despite this, she finds her own nature someone laughable,
hence the bright pink bow. One can always here music from her
dorm room, ranging from industrial to dark techno. Although
strongly antisocial, one can gauge her state of mind from just
how loud the music is played: If it's at a normal volume,
everything's fine; if it's loud, start to worry; and if
there's nothing, call the paramedics. She keeps a sketchbook
for her journal, although no one knows what she really draws.
Akisa and Novella attended the same high school. |

                | | "I don't believe
that souls have something as flesh and bone
as gender. But what does that mean for the term 'soulmate'?" Cheery and extroverted, Miki is a member of nearly every
extra-curricular activity in the list. Well known on campus,
Miki often writes in a small pink legal pad, and is admired
for her long blonde hair. She finds Nov journaling around
campus, and begins to wonder what could be so interesting to
write about all the time.  |

                | | "My spirit clings to this world by such a thin thread; winds
of Fate carry a touch of sometime else, and I long to hear its stories
and know its characters." Kaze is the president of the college writing club, The
Winged Scribe. He defines himself through his writing and
stories. In recent years, he's become obsessed with one story
in particular. He's convinced that this is his first,
"real" story, but he cannot complete it. It's been
started, languished, scrapped, and then restarted several
times. And although Kaze admits he's made no progress at all,
he refuses to give up. When he discovers Nov, he becomes
convinced no one else can help him. |
